NEW DIRECTION......
hey peeps this is a new direction for our blog......cos i have decided to change the path of our blog
as opposed to the usual news/information niche
i have actually decided to make this blog stand out in its own unique niche
i have actually decided to start asking question that people don't ask i have actually realised that the world we live in is a very complicated and diverse ... a world where people ignore the important day to day questions that actually directly affects our individual lives and start asking the ones which don't
as i am nt omnipresent i dont expect to have all the questions or even worse all the answers but i would be open to giving my opinion on certain topics.
kindly send questions you have as regards any aspect of your life to ademidemola@gmail.com i ll be sure to put it up here.....adios

Question Of The day: What Would You Do In The Following Scenario?
I'd like to know what you would do in the following scenario:
This guy has been living with his wonderful family for 30+ years. One day, a woman shows up at his house claiming to be a nurse at his hospital of birth. She had a lengthy discussion with his parents before he was summoned, amidst tears, to join the discussion. She went on to reveal that he was mistakenly switched at birth and that she'd been trying to track his family ever since. She showed him a picture of his "family" and he actually looked like his "dad'.
What would you do if you were in his shoes? Return to your "real" family or stick with the family you are used to? If your present family were poor and your real parents were rich what would you do?

Question Of The Day:who Should We Blame For Our Suffering Now ADAM,EVE Or SERPENT
LAST sunday was wonderful in my church, as the pastor told the whole congregation NO PREACHING TODAY..............
he told us to open to gen 3, and we should read then the men should defend adam, that he he is not to be blamed, women to defend eve that she is not to be blamed and the youth also should defend the serpent that ITS not guilty so guys i guess its cool if we also trash it out here.......
to me i beleive the serpent wasn't guilty because IT was just carrying out its normal daily activities, and u would help note in that chapter that IT never told eve to eat it all IT said was if u eat from it u shall know the truth.
so pals lets rub minds together and bring one out as the most guilty.

Question Of The Day: What If We Can Live Without Food?
I wake up on a normal day around 11am and am not bothered about food until around 1pm and i still don't feel the sting of hunger even as i eventually prepare to eat
But amazingly i decide to fast today and am awake by 8 only to realise that by 9am am already have a stingy feeling in my lower abdomen and it got me thinking is food just a psychological factor to our existence and can it be possible that we probably might be able to live without food
Like Jesus in the bible who when he went into the wilderness did not eat for 40 days and 40 nights then you wonder how did he do it,or the fact that there have been reports of monks who has gone 100days at times without food nor water.. perhaps you think that is spiritual what of a stunt man in 2009 who caged himself in a giant balloon in times square, new york city and went 46days without food and water.
can you?
So is it nearly possible that eating or food as we know it is just merely psychological, a norm, habit or an addiction that we can probably live without and that people who have died out of starvation probably died due to the psychological effect hunger had on them and not the actual absence of food
Just saying what do you think?
check out my previous post on "why we eat what we eat" here

opinion poll;who is really to blame, FG OR ASUU ???
Except you have been living under a rock and u don't know about the more than 100 days old industrial strike action embarked upon by the academic staff union of universities (ASUU)
we are tempted to ask who is really to blame for the lingering strike action ASUU or the FG
who is really to blame?
The FG for not fulfilling their end of the 2009 deal or ASUU for not accepting to shift grounds and negotiate the agreement and unnecessarily keeping Nigerian students at home and refusing to dialogue with the government

Steve Jobs - the genius behind "apple inc" which is now the world's most valuable brand
Mark zuckerberg creator and founder of facebook the worlds largest online social networking site
Bill Gates - the founder of microsoft and one time richest man in the world
Albert Einstein - the world's smartest man and founder of the theory of relativity
Thomas Edison - the man who perfected electricity held a world record of 1093 patents for inventions such as the light bulb and phonograph
John D. Rockefeller - the world's first billionaire
Richard Branson - founder and ceo of virgin atlantic owner of virgin airways and the virgin galactic space shuttle the first space commercial airline
Tu face "Innocent" idibia - a living legend as he has left his mark on the music scene home and abroad with over 500 tunes credited to him
U know what they all have in common apart from fame and wealth?
They were all high school or college drop outs
all of them gave up on formal education at one point in their lives and still managed to greatly impact the world and their generation in their own way. They and many more like them.
So then does this Contradict the popularly saying "EDUCATION IS THE KEY" as it wasn't the key to this distinguished set of people
All this distinguished personalities although lived in different times and circumstances all have one thing in common they stumbled upon the key without any form of formal education, does these then mean that this KEY is not hidden somewhere in BIO 101, PHY202, ACC101or BAF401
Or rather did we all get it wrong and misunderstood the point, if so what type of education is really the key?
Formal education?
Informal education? Or
Non-formal education?
What type education was actually being referred to in this popular saying "EDUCATION IS THE KEY"
Will this generation of Nigerian youths have ASUU or the FG to blame for not getting their 'key'?
Is it possible that our university education really has nothing to do with getting the key to unlocking life's mysteries?
Gov. Rotimi ameachi recently advised NYSC corp members during their POP (pass out parade) to get self employment rather than depend on white collar or government jobs, so then blog visitors is after NYSC the best time to start being self employed?
Can it be said that the University is just a well-tailored environment for professional pursuit?
It has been argued that to succeed in life What you need are mostly social skills to get along with people, enthusiasm, or adherence to the success aimed at.
It is then nonsense to narrow our eyes focusing on university education lamentably for our future. Success means not all the same for different people, and always leaves us different ways to achieve it. Life is just like a maze and as such Where there is a will, there is always a way out for success.
So why shouldn't we all just drop out and start inventing stuff?

Question of the day: What Lanuguage do you think in????
Most people would readily say this is easy "English language of course" or any other local dialect they speak, but stop and think about
it for a while what language would a deaf man think in as
he would probably not
understand any actual language
If u had super powers and u were to speak to someone
through your thoughts in what language would you converse?
How do u explain yourself in your head?
It is probably a bit more confusing for those
who speaks more than one language than for those who re monodialetic and speak
only one language
how does our brains shuffle
between languages in order to pick the right language for a particular line of
thought
But how do we make the
distinction between which language to think in why, when and how?
Rhetorical huh?
In my opinion though I think there is a
universal language which all being, animals and humans alike speak and it is a
language we all understand a language made up of pictures,
for the purpose of this post we can term it "THE PICTORIAL LANGUAGE".
This is why it is possible
for two people who speak completely different languages lets say Chinese and Spanish
to actually think about the same thing or have the same idea accurately.
Think about your first house
and tell me what you see
Do u see the words F I R S T
H O U S E or do u actually have an image in your head of an actual house or think
about your C A R or your first car and tell me if u see the letters C A R or an actual
car..your dream car although not necessarily accurate but it goes to show that
we all think with pictures we create images in our head and put them in motion
So in that vein is it
actually correct to say people don't think in words or any particular language
rather we all think with pictures or PICTORIAL LANGUAGE as we have termed it
This post is thereby
argumentative as I do not really have answers to this question and am merely
laying out my opinions which are within my own sphere of reasoning...
This post is also open to constructive
criticism as I would love to understand what language you think in

"VANITY UPON VANITY"...ALL IS VANITY..
I got a very interesting message from a friend yesterday and decided to share it with my blog visitors
"I vividly Recall My MUM
telling me about a man in my Neighborhood who became popular for engaging in
money rituals just to buy the 80's edition of the Honda Prelude. U wouldn't buy
that car for 50k today. Some other guy brutally murdered his brother ( whom
their father gave cash 2 travel 4 the purpose of re- stocking their warehouse),
just 'cos he wanted 2 acquire the rave of the moment - Pathfinder Jeep. That
same vehicle is now better described as a coffin. I Remember as a kid, my whole
street gathered to watch a truck deliver a very large satellite dish to my neighbor's house. Today a dish one tenth that size delivers 5 times the value
and is in almost every student's room. What about the Volkswagen Santana,
Mercedes Benz V boot, 505 Evolution, Toyota Crown, all overtaken by latest
models of Camry, Honda, Bugatti, Bentley, X6, Acura and Infinity.... Vanity!
Some ladies left their true loves cos some rich guy then persuaded them with a
Benz 190, which turned out 2 be the only car they ever owned till date. They
found out too late that true love is invaluable. A friend declared drinks
because he launched the Nokia Communicator for over hundred grand in 2002.
Today that phone would embarrass the owner and is a joke compared to the low
cost and everyday phone. What about d MTN sim card that many people went extra
miles b4 dey bought for over 30k, today u will not buy it at N100 because all
networks are begging people to even take it for free. People are still making
the most horrific sacrifices over 'vanity' and make enemies over worthless
material things. What can I Say? Look back at that one thing you want to kill
or die for today and see what becomes of it tomorrow. There is absolutely
nothing u can't achieve, all u need is a little time and PATIENCE and u would thank
God without regrets".... Be Wise! Friends,do have a lovely day

THE MYSTERY BEHIND THE LANGUAGES U SPEAK...........
I recently watched a christian tv show where I
saw a pastor perform a miracle on a deaf and dumb man and when he was asked to speak, he could
speak..but then it hit me, how?
How could he master the complexity of the
english language within seconds of hearing it for the first time
Language can be defined as
the method of human communication, either spoken or written, consisting of the
use of words in a structured and conventional way
So how does a deaf man who
can't hear the pronounciation of the letter A as 'hay' capitulate within
seconds the pronounciation of the word 'ABLE'
Why does 'to', 'two', 'too'
all sound alike but have different meanings?
Hence I wonder what language
the child of a dumb woman who was raised lets say on a desserted island would
grow up to speak. assuming the child wasn't dumb could they create there own
language as The need for communication has always been a basic need for the
human race. Then how did we come about sounds and consonants and vowels and
phonetics.......
I often wonder why as babies
we can master the complexities in language and be able able to attach sounds to
words and give those words meaning to form the bases of an understanding
U can Try to form an alphabet
by jst drawing a random sign but try pronouncing it without using any of the
known alphabets for instance try pronouncing אֶת-הָעִי
So How did we distinguish the
english language from french
Aw did we attach meaning to
these words.
What makes the letters 'T', 'H', 'I', 'N', 'K' mean think?
I know some would refer to the
bible in the city of babel when God scattered the people while trying to create
the tower with different tongues but the issue here is how the languages
evolved and how our forefather's gibberish turned into yourba, hausa or igbo and how we were able to synchronize every
yoruba, igbo or hausa statements with actual meaning in english
How does the brain capitulate
words?
The smae ltteers anraged difrneftly maens a
difrneft tihng and as cmopelx as it is u smeohow uesdnatnrd waht am aulaclty
wrnitig rhigt now
Why weren't we just speaking when we were born
and why did we have to speak gibberish for a couple of year before growing to
learn....
What if babies gibberish is actually a language and maybe the original
language we are supposed to be speaking cos it was what we were born with.
think about it all babies makes the same
sound no matter the tribe or country they are from
What if its a universal
language?
If so imagine what was going
on in your head as a baby when people couldn't understand you.
Why was it easy for you to learn and understand a new language as a 3
year old and harder for you to learn a new language as an adult(u might try
learning chinese now and let's see how that goes)
what do u think

NIGERIA IS OURS NOT THEIR'S.......If you re a well meaning Nigerian pls read this
Hurray Nigeria is 53....and the most popular greeting for the day is "HAPPY INDEPENCE"
But what re we really happy about ? Are we really independent?
We live in a country where Aso Rock is voting N300,000,000 to buy dinning sets; over N1 billion for food; N375,000,000 for refreshments and N37, 277,825 for publicity and advertisement while according to world bodies majority of the masses live on below $1 per day
We live in a country where the minister for heath travel out of the country regularly for medical checkups, and we have ministers of education who have their kids studying in private universities or abroad as well as ministers for transport who has probably never stepped foot in a public vehicle as norms
We live in a country where the political structure and component has not evolved since independence 53 years ago, a country where change which is the only constant in life has had no effect in the set of names and families that has graced the desks and doors of our country's highest political offices
We live in a country where the higher education system has been shut down for 90days still with no solution in view and while the president in his recent media chat rather than to take necessary affirmative action to put an end to the continuing threats of the indefinite industrial strike action is appealing to the emotions of the striking lecturers
We live in a country where when the president was asked about the incessant terror attacks in the nation and whether or not the most wanted man in Nigeria who has caused terror and hardship particularly to the northern part of the country is dead or alive he says "I don't know if shekau is alive or dead even sef you journalist know more than me"
We live in a country where the saying that youths are the leaders of tomorrow is a popular one and yet the youngest democratically elected president we've ever had is 54 years old
So blog visitors and Nigerian youths it begs the question 'when is the future'?, when is tomorrow ?
And we are all asked to imbibe the spirit of celebration, I laugh in spanish as I ask what is really there to celebrate?
I crave to celebrate for a country where leaders are being mandated to believe in the system they are appointed to administer
A system where ministers of health are being mandated to have all their medical emergencies and checkups in Nigeria hence giving them reason to improve the medical sector
A system in which the Minister of education is educated in a nigerian university, federal or state owned so as to ensure that she/he understands the standard or level of education and knows where the problems are and what to do since he/she has gone through the system and who in turn should have their children schooled in Nigeria thereby allowing for transparency in the sector
Or a system where the Minister of transport travels publicly in a public transportation system rather than with a convoy of exotic cars and helicopters while the masses are being asked to ride tricycles and endure the hardship of bad roads and the likes
How do we have a better tomorrow without young internally educated Nigerians who has passed through the system and understands it
I have come to understand that nigeria does not need a perfect leader but rather a consistent set of leaders
But how do you manage to get a set of consistent leaders When young nigerians are not even entitled to free flowing quality education without consistent strike actions to disrupt the education process
We might be too young to be politicians or not influential enough to lobby for political appointments but we have a voice and it must be heard as we are the future of this country
And if continue to convince ourselves that we can't do anything and remain quiet, as silent leaders of tomorrow what would be left to lead when both foreign and domestic debts makes the country ungovernable in the future or when our sole dependence on oil has led to the dwindling diminishing of the natural resource
but when we believe in the power of togetherness, unity and youthful vigor and on this independence day rather than dance gallivant and jubilate we all unite and use the power of social media at our disposal to make a statement and let our voices echo through to the highest echelons of government. So rather than overlook this post and go about smiling in sorrow, rather than celebrating independence in penury. Let's speak out for ourselves by re-broadcasting this link on any and every social media at our disposal, let's stand up for what we believe in as
NIGERIA IS OURS NOT THEIR'S

SOME SAY MURDER OTHER'S SAY ABORTION.....WHAT'S THE DISTINCTION?
Shakespeare once said that "nothing is good or bad but thinking makes it" so Whose thoughts determines what is wrong and what is right and how did we come about the term RIGHT and WRONG?
I find myself making judgements or assumptions on what is right and what is wrong all the time but then I ask myself how do I make the distinctions
Mostly when I think in black and white I miss all the shades of grey in between as most times someone has to be wrong for someone else to be right
What are the parameters for determining what is right from wrong and how are the distinctions made
Take for instance the controversial topic of gay marriage and the effect it has had while others are for the universal right to marriage others are against it
And another major controversial issue is the proposed legalization of abortion and or abortion pills as it has been a controversial issue for years and all over the world. some has castigated the legalization of the right to kill innocent unborn children while others has seen it as a prevention of unwanted pregnancies and babies who later grow up to be criminals for lack of proper care or family
SO WHICH IS IT MURDER OR PREVENTION?
how then do we arrive at the conclusion of what Is right and what isn't on a universal scale, how did we internationally define what is good and what is bad
In a famous quote by werner erhad. He said "there are always somethings we do not know, the knowing of which could change everything"
And as it has always been said that truth is simply a matter of perspective and no one person can be the judge. What's your take on this?

WHAT AYERINDE OLUWASEUN'S BLOG IS ALL ABOUT......
I decided to write what my blog is all about today. As
The creation of this blogspot has come about as a result of my observation of certain human behaviours and thoughts as I have at times wondered in silence and asked myself certain questions that I could never have answered, so I thought it would be useful and perhaps insightful to have my own notes, ideas and general take on things written down somewhere that is easily accessible. I thought it would also be helpful to get feedback on my work.
Am currently a member of the university of Abuja campus community and I have decided to shed my opinions on certain issues in my spare time as I find it so insightfully interesting. I'm a big believer that psychology can be used in every part of life. It's a key ingredient to understanding the way that we as a society work and how a bit about ourselves and others can change our lives for the better.
With the whole idea being to ask questions other people are also asking but are not voicing and sharing common grounds, opinion and ideas on certain issues as well as constructively criticizing others...
Its been fun so far and we are just getting started so hold on to your horses peeps and enjoy the ride ;)

THE SEX URGE AND THE DESIRE TO BE GREAT
Did u know that everything a man does springs from 2 motives: THE SEX URGE and THE DESIRE TO BE GREAT
this 2 motives are the reasons behind most decisions and actions men make
let's take the sex urge for instance which is the single most common activity or thought in the life of a 'sexually' active man, as most things he does would revolves around it, say for instance you want to buy a shirt u buy the one that u think makes you more attractive based on the knowledge that your attractiveness would make u look desirable, the way you choose to walk, the way you choose to talk...your persona. All these actions are based on the ideology that you look attractive that way, you go to the gym, the cologne you wear..(except you re gay of course, in which case you'll still feel the need to be attractive) all this activities although common embodies a hidden urge to attract a girl which could in turn bring about sexual gratification...
And then there is the desire to be great.....you decide to be educated not cos you re passionate about classrooms or tests or exams but because of your desire to be great because of the desire to want to amount to something in life not necesarily through 'educatin but by being educated',that sounded so good am going to say it again" u go to school because u want to amount to something in life not necessarily through EDUCATION but by being EDUCATED". U want to be a musician not cos u want to sing to your family members at birthday parties but cos u want to be recognized internationally and all this goes to show that within every man is a desire to be great, so basically the choices we've made in life has basically been influenced by our desire to be GREAT or. SEXUAL URGE........
So out of curiosity
IS THERE ANYTHING YOU DO OR DECISION YOU MAKE THAT YOU THINK IS OUTSIDE THE SCOPE OF THIS TWO MOTIVES ???

Why didn't "COCA-COLA COMPANY" pay KUNLE..........
I am a really big fan of wizkid and I am aware he is a brand ambassador for pepsi but I really don't remember the last time I bought a pepsi just because wizkid is on the poster telling me pepsi makes u "ask for more", but I can remember a lot of times where I had bought a bottle of coke just cos my friend KUNLE is buying one
By the way a Brand Ambassador is a marketing term for a person employed by an organization or company to promote its products or services within the activity known as branding.
So it makes me wonder why organizations most especially those operating in Nigeria has narrowed their scope merely to celebrity branding , While I ve noticed that my decision to use most things or products is influenced by my close friends, family and environment and not a particular celebrity. In fact I would rather have switched to mtn PULSE because my best friend tells me its cheaper rather than because davido is on a bill board saying it is.
And in the same vein I would buy a samsung galaxy S4 because that's what that guy that wants to snatch my girlfriend is impressing her and oppressing me with and not because Banky W is on a poster saying it is.
We all hear of multi- million naira endorsement deals. and I ask myself why pay an already rich celebrity a lot of money to do nothing when u can pay an average enthusiastic customer a lot less to advertise the same goods for you and get more customers from him.
Cause Frankly I would pay more attention to see the smile of a random kid on a billboard telling me to buy something or try out a new product than I will seeing an already rich and famous celebrity on the same bill board,
Because in my hearts of hearts I know that he is only telling me to use that particular products because he has been paid heavily and not cos the product is actually as good as he is saying it is
No beefs though(small beef sha) but in my own opinion I think branding should have evolved in Nigeria or to have moved to the lower level of enthusiastic customers who are personal brand ambassadors in their own communities in order to bring about equality in the distribution of wealth as the rich keeps getting richer and the poor sometimes stay poor....
So now blog visitors why hasn't kunle been paid by Coca-Cola for being a brand ambassador? ;)

So now blog visitors why hasn't kunle been paid by Coca-Cola for being a brand ambassador? ;)
