U know what they all have in common apart from fame and wealth?
They were all high school or college drop outs
all of them gave up on formal education at one point in their lives and still managed to greatly impact the world and their generation in their own way. They and many more like them.
So then does this Contradict the popularly saying "EDUCATION IS THE KEY" as it wasn't the key to this distinguished set of people
All this distinguished personalities although lived in different times and circumstances all have one thing in common they stumbled upon the key without any form of formal education, does these then mean that this KEY is not hidden somewhere in BIO 101, PHY202, ACC101or BAF401
Or rather did we all get it wrong and misunderstood the point, if so what type of education is really the key?
Formal education?
Informal education? Or
Non-formal education?
What type education was actually being referred to in this popular saying "EDUCATION IS THE KEY"
Will this generation of Nigerian youths have ASUU or the FG to blame for not getting their 'key'?
Is it possible that our university education really has nothing to do with getting the key to unlocking life's mysteries?
Gov. Rotimi ameachi recently advised NYSC corp members during their POP (pass out parade) to get self employment rather than depend on white collar or government jobs, so then blog visitors is after NYSC the best time to start being self employed?
Can it be said that the University is just a well-tailored environment for professional pursuit?
It has been argued that to succeed in life What you need are mostly social skills to get along with people, enthusiasm, or adherence to the success aimed at.
It is then nonsense to narrow our eyes focusing on university education lamentably for our future. Success means not all the same for different people, and always leaves us different ways to achieve it. Life is just like a maze and as such Where there is a will, there is always a way out for success.
So why shouldn't we all just drop out and start inventing stuff?

Hmm... well yeah true education is key buh I feel formal n informal education is d key n they both matter. The formal education might seems lk a waste buh personally I don't think So.
ReplyDeleteI don't think tertiary learning is the key, rather I feel its jst the handle to the door, whereas the key is buried deep within us...luckily for some, they doors are not locked, so they jst need to twist and that's it, while others have locked doors in which case the handle is useless, (they blame FG on this offcourse), with a key without handle, u can always unlock the door, then jack it, I mean pry it open.....with a key plus the handle, there will be no stoping to things ull do....so I think we should all start looking within, and not shut ourselves in with just tertiary education alone....... Education is what you have left when uv forgotten all what u learnt in school. 'Albert Eeinstein'
